Number the stars, an all time favourite

We all know about world war two, the majority of us book lovers have heard of Anne Franks diary, or even read it, but not allot of us have heard of Number the stars by Lois Lowry, a historical fiction about a young girl named Annemarie Johansen and her best friend Ellen Rosen both living in Copenhagen during world war two. Ellen is a jew and Annemarie Christian, Annemarie's family took care of Ellen, while the Rosen Parents where in Hiding. This book is about the struggles adventures and fear two ten year old children face during world war two.

I recall reading the book back when I was in the 4th grade, I adored it, my mum bought it for me from a very small and old book shop. The book really is for anyone of any age, my father is a big fan of it. With a page count of only 167 it's short yet eye-opening.

If you like Historical fiction then this definitely is a book for you. Other works by Lois Lowry The giver, Son, and Summer to die. A great series Lois Lowry had created is Anastasia, definitely a 1980's young adult book.
